Research Focus
My area of research interest is mechanisms of preeclamptic hypertension, which obviously has broad relevanced to the physiology and patholphysiology of reproduction. We have investigated rennin secretion from chrorionic cells and steroid-mediated regulation of rennin secretion in stromal/decidual cells. We have contributed significantly to the concept that there is a complete rennin angiotensin system in the human uterus, and its regulation may have implications for preeclamptic hypertension. We are currently expanding into the area of cell-to-cell interaction in the deciduas specifically related to macrophages and endothelial cells.
