  • ERP recommends an Advising Compact between advisor and student.  The advisor’s department or lab may have an existing compact. If not, this example from Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences can be used as a model. (September 2023)
  • A Mentor-Mentee Expectations Document is encouraged to clarify specific lab culture, rules, and work expectations that aren’t covered in the Advising Compact.  This sample was shared in Ten simple rules for developing a mentor–mentee expectations document.
