ERP is delighted to announce that Dr. Samantha “Sam” Weaver has joined the ERP Training Faculty.  Dr. Weaver is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Comparative Biosciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine and a proud alum of the ERP program (PhD ’18).

She writes, “My research program aligns with the goals and expertise within the ERP Program. My laboratory is focused on defining the endocrine and molecular processes that govern bone and cartilage regeneration. Musculoskeletal issues are the number one reason that patients visit their doctor in the United States and many musculoskeletal diseases (osteoarthritis, osteoporosis) disproportionately affect postmenopausal women. Additionally, reproductive events such as pregnancy and lactation put significant stress on the skeleton; the processes by which bone regenerates after heavy turnover is of particular interest to my lab.”  She continues, “The training I received in the ERP Program was fundamental to my advancement as an independent scientist; I am passionate about seeing its continued success and will contribute in any way possible.”

Please join us in welcoming Sam (back) to ERP!
