Research Focus:
Dr. Beyhan’s earlier work has focused on cellular reprogramming which collectively refer to the molecular events that render a differentiated cell into a pluripotent state where the cell regains the ability to re-differentiate in to several cell lineages. He used somatic cell nuclear transfer (cloning) as a model to study this phenomenon with a specific focus on global gene expression and epigenetic modification patterns. His current research interest is practical applications of gamete and embryo biology, such as in vitro fertilization, embryo culture, cryopreservation, and preimplantation genetic testing. His recent studies have contributed our understanding of problems associated with assisted reproductive technologies.
